what I am learning.

  • I am learning to have a good day even when the odds are against me. Because when I can't help what others say and do around me, at least I can control my own attitude and actions.

  • I am learning the concept of having good character and knowing you are doing everything you can even if others think differently.

  • I am learning that a tear makes a different stain on a face than a thousand shower droplets could replicate.

  • I am learning that even when people take advantage of me, it doesn't mean I am a push over. It means that I mean more to them as a tool than as a friend.

And that's okay, because when I realize this, at least I know where I stand.

new information about evin

The weeks leading up to Evin's death, he continually complained "Mom, a blonde boy is following me." We know this is factual because Kevin called Michelle about it as well, so Evin complained to his mom and dad on separate occasions. They talked to each other about it, and Kevin was so worried about Evin's 'hallucinations' of a blonde boy, he wanted to put Evin in counseling. Then, Evin was at Kevin's mom's house (out of town) and told her that a blonde boy was standing out beside a pole next to a building. He talked about it so much that they took him out driving and looking for a blonde boy. They never found anyone.

Days later, Evin died. It's so strange. Death angel? Shane? We don't know. I just wanted to share that story with you. I am a skeptical person, but when things like this happen, I can't help but realize that anything and everything is possible, and that God knows the time, the place, the way, and the reason of everything that happened and what will happen. I have a peace that Evin was not alone when he died, but perhaps a little blonde boy was lying beside him.
